While I never got a check for my reality show idea, Y'all remember how last year I was the FIRST one to say that T.I. needed to do a reality show. Around this same time last year, T.I. was getting crazy media coverage over the illegal gun charges. I did a blog about it and even spoke to Tip's manager in passing about the idea. But, Jason insisted to me that Grand Hustle didn't get down like that. Hhmmmm so why does Tip have a reality show coming?
According to various internet blogs, Tip's new reality show tentatively titled "T.I.'s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go" will air on MTV Feb 10th.
The ATL rap boss hopes the series will scare teens away from a life of crime.
For those who are looking for any high-octane antics from some of MTV's previous reality shows, you'll be dissapointed. MTV has gone on record as saying that they are changing the direction of their programing.
According to the Bostonherald.com, The cable network's recent ratings decline has been severe, with a 23 percent drop in its core group of 12- to 34-year-olds, Variety reported. As a result, MTV will be overhauling its programming and looking for new ways to get new viewers.
The network's proposed lineup of reality shows will be created and produced by entertainment big names such as rap impresario Sean Combs, "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, real estate developer Donald Trump and former "98 Degrees" band member Nick Lachey.
Who knows, maybe I'll they'll give me a cameo shot. I mean hell, I can hold the boom mic LOL!
And Speaking of Grand Hustle......
Grand Hustle/Interscope artist Yung LA is gearing up for a 2009 album release and it looks like he's wasting no time in getting things poppin' with his new media. LA had a smash hit with Tip and Young Dro with the "Ain't I Remix".
I snatched this short bio from homie's myspace page.
Launching his name with full force, Yung L.A. is a new artist with a veteran presence whose music speaks from the heart of the streets. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Yung L.A. is no stranger to struggle. Like many hip hop artist, Yung L.A. has experienced disappointments, poverty, and shattered dreams.
When Yung L.A. did not receive the exposure he desired during the launch of his rapping career, he turned to selling narcotics as a means to survive. After the tragic deaths of his three closest friends, Yung L.A. turned away from drug dealing and back to the rap game. Performing at various cities across the south, Yung L.A.'s stage presence and high energy has captivated audiences like no other. Yung L.A.'s manager / business partners Clay Evans and Michael Lace, says they're excited about L.A.'s potential. "From the moment we met L.A., we knew he had something different from the rest.
He has the passion and the talent to definitely push it over the top. He's the next big thing."
Brian over at Interscope records has teamed up with SOHH Atlanta to exclusively deliver a handful of webisodes of the Atlanta new comer.
